POSITION – PLAYERS:

GK – Asenjo

CB – Dunne

CB – Richards

WBL – Insua

WBR – Srna

MCD – Veloso

MCA – Buonanotte

AMC – Matias

FCL – Robinho

FCR – Sanchez

ST – Huntelaar

BRIEF INFO:

Attacking – This is one the best attacking tactics I’ve ever played.

  • 6 players go deep in to the oppostion’s area when attacking giving enough options for scoring.
  • Lot of fast build-up play so that one can enjoy watching the game.
  • ST scores a lot.
  • AMC (Playmaker) gets a lot of opportunities as he plays a good Free-Role.

Defending – Decent defending

  • MCA and MCD are always alert to Close-Down and Tackle hard to get the ball back.
  • WBs get back before the opposition attacks with Wingers.
  • Even though the mentality is Attacking, CBs are always on Defending mentality.
  • Offside plays an Important role in Defend-line Push-up.

PLAYER REQUIREMENTS:

Player Requirements

WHEN TO USE:

  • This tactics shows real class when your team is the “Favourite” for the match.
  • You can use it regularly throughout the Season also but you need to tweak some settings if want to defend well against a superior opponent (only if you feel the need to change).

MUST DO:

  • Pick a style of the Corner and put 2 of your best Headers in that area and 2 next best Headers in the 6-yard box and 2 Long-Shot takers Lurking outside the box. Rest all “Stay back”
  • 2 best Long-Shot takers to stand with the Freekick taker.
  • Only 2 fast and short players to “Stay Forward” during defending the Corners and Freekicks. Rest all Back.
  • Assign ST as your Targetman (Even though this tactics doesn’t “Use Targetman”).
  • Assign AMC as your Playmaker.
  • Assign WBs to take Short throws on their sides.
  • Turn on Free-role for AMC and Hold-up for MCD.
  • Last 15 minutes always do Counter-Attacking.
  • Tweak player instructions as per the player’s ability/attributes.
  • Opposition instructions as per Tactical Bible.
  • There’s always an attacking MC in the opponent team. Switch your MCD with MCA to defend that player with your MCD.

OPTIONAL:

You can –

  • Swap FCs if they are strong both footed.
  • Assign Free-role to FCs if see how they have high Off-the-ball.
  • Defend the 2nd Half if your leading against a good team by bringing the Time-wasting and Defense-line to Normal.
  • Tell your GK to take Long -kick if the attribute is high. (Helps ST)
  • TackleHard” if playing against slow and poor team to attack more.

SOME RESULTS:

Oly

vs NewCastle

vs Man U

Note –

  • Matches were played in order as the reults are displayed.
  • Match were played back to back with the gap of  3-4 days between each match.
  • Teams average Condition level was around 95% even though I played most of the 2nd team vs Olympiakos and some vs NewCastle.

Analysis –

  • Possession of the ball with the team which converts into lot of attacking.
  • Counter-Attacking helps during the last 15 minutes.
  • If team wasn’t tired in 2nd Half, could’ve scored more goals.
  • As expected defending becomes a challenge versus opposition’s Counter-Attacking. (Which they didn’t convert into goals)
  • Somehow Clean-Sheets results. 🙂
  • I know one cannot judge a tactic/formation by just playing 3 matches but my friend has tried it and works perfect for him.

SUMMARY:

  • This tactic is a bit inspired by Xehoz.
  • Must-give-it-a-try” tactic if you are “attacking” fan.
  • Will be playing with this tactics for the rest of the season with Manchester City.
  • Feel free to point out Flaws in the tactic.
  • Please post your results if you use this tactic.
  • Come back for updates.

A great tactic for big team i think..
but i will try this tactic for my Peterborough team. see if it working…
will wait for your next update..

PaX - 13 February, 2009

As you rightly pointed out its for Big teams… And Big teams attack alot so its “attacking” tactic…
And it’ll be nice to see your results for some updates to the tactic…
But please keep in mind that “personal instructions” should be given as per the player’s ability… And always see the match in 2D/3D mode to see where you are going wrong…
